Excelsior, Minnesota (Under Construction)
Located in a protected wetland area on steep slopes, additional setbacks severely limited the buildable area of the site. 10K worked closely with the client to design an efficient floor plan that fits within the site parameters and meets programmatic requirements. Expansive east facing glass maximizes views of Silver Lake. To minimize material waste and simplify construction the foundation uses insulated concrete forms, and prefabricated steel frame with insulated wall panels. Exterior cladding is charred cypress, created through the Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban.
